For 40 years, the Georgia Engineering Foundation has sponsored a program that awards college scholarships to worthy Georgia students who are preparing for a career in engineering or engineering technology. Since 1985, over 680 students have been awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. In 2011, 35 awards were made, and a total of $53,250 was given to students pursuing a field in either engineering or engineering technology.
All scholarships are competitively awarded based on the student’s demonstrated competence in academics, interest in developing a career in engineering, financial need, and school and community involvement.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, a student must be interested in a career in
engineering and:
1) A U. S. Citizen (does not apply to IEEE Scholarships);
2) A resident of Georgia; and
3) Enrolled in an engineering or engineering technology
ABET-accredited program leading to a B.S.,
or graduate degree.
Applicants include incoming college freshmen, as well as upperclassmen,
and graduate level students.
